The PHP LSAPI (or LiteSpeed SAPI (server API)) is a C library for building server applications with the best combination of performance, security, and flexibility.
Same as mod_php for Apache, the PHP LSAPI allows a LiteSpeed server to be able to manage, interpret, and deliver PHP to its users.
The API includes support for dynamically changing PHP configurations via A Web-based admin and/or .htacess files.
The PHP LSAPI is basically an interface between the PHP compiler and the server core, allowing the server to adapt its highly-optimized core to the quirks and working modes of PHP code.
The API allows for PHP processes to run optimized according to current server load, and as a bonus, it also supports a suEXEC mode, allowing it to be used in shared hosting environments as well.
Other official LiteSpeed server API implementations are also available for:
Ruby
Python
